Episode Notes

Hi there. Ducky Obrien chilling like an icicle on a cold day.

Today we go over the two most important questions in life: 1. Exposure? 2. Something about DMT

Show Notes Short: Top two tips frequently given: 1. - Know your audience. 2 - Use Social Media. What they don't go into: Use every platform, know what type of content is consumed on that platform, and know what type of content your audience consumes on that platform.

Show Notes Long: Every guide tells you that you need to use Social Media to target your known audience. What each guide doesn't really go into, is how to actually use Social Media, especially when you don't have a presence on each platform. They also don't tell you what to do after you find/target/imagine your audience.

For Social Media, you need to understand what type of content gets engagement on each platform. For example, on Twitter and Instagram, it's harder to get engagements with video content than it is with pictures. Why? People don't want to spend a lot of time consuming content on those platforms. So you might want to consider using either very short videos, or a static image.

You also need to browse through all the content on each platform and see what is actually getting engagements with content creators similar to you. When you are first starting out and you have no Social Media presence, you don't have a large enough audience to use analytics properly. The data set is not large enough to accurately represent your audience. So the next best thing you can do is to look at other content creators who are making similar content and have a slightly larger audience and faster audience growth than you. You don't want to look at people who have the same audience size or much larger because you want a realistic data set that will target growth.

Look at what they're posting on each platform and the hast tags that get the most engagement and that should give you an idea of what to create and post.

In the words of Captain Taggart, Never Give Up, Never Surrender!
